Each year parents are asked to pay a small contribution fee for each child attending our school. School Contributions make a significant difference to the number and quality of programs we are able to offer your children. The payment of school contributions supports the educational program that your child is offered at Gosnells Primary School. Although voluntary, the Minister for Education expects all parents who can afford to pay the school contributions to do so. School budgeting is based on the expectation that parents will pay. Without your help it will be difficult to provide the level of support and range of activities we value.
Throughout the year parents are asked to pay for certain activities that form part of the school or classroom program. These ‘charges’ are for extra cost, optional activities which are part of an education program and which contributions do not cover (eg. Swimming Lessons). These ‘charges’ are optional and if no payment is received, an educational activity with a similar outcome will be provided to that student.
Prior to the start of the school year, parents/carers are provided with a schedule which is broken into sections that will allow you to calculate all costs that you might incur throughout the following school year.
Parents can pay the contributions off by periodical instalments if required. The school will notify parents when charges are due and part payments can be paid before the event/activity takes place. Full payment is required by the day of the event/activities. The school does not have an EFTPOS machine; payments can be made either in cash or by electronic transfer using the Qkr App. Information detailing how to download and use the Qkr App can be found in the link below.
Refund of Contributions and Charges
Parents may be entitled to a refund of any unused portion of the contributions and charges they have paid if their child transfers to another school prior to the end of the school year. Alternatively, the remaining funds can be transferred to the new school. These refunds will be arranged upon your request and the refund will be based on a rate as approved by School Board.
NOTE: All Contributions, Charges, Personal Items, Rates of Refunds and Additional Requests have been endorsed and approved by the School Board.
